Sacred Purification & Intention Journey with Wandi

About the Journey

This transformative journey has been created for those who wish to clear accumulated negative energy, release emotional and mental obstacles, reconnect with their sincere intentions and open a new path forward.

At the heart of the experience is Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala, a hidden sacred water temple located within a lush river valley in Bangli. The word Pecampuhan refers to the meeting or confluence of waters. Symbolically, this is a place where different currents come together, old energy is carried away and a new direction can begin.

The temple is known for its sacred springs, flowing river, natural pools and holy water fountains used in Melukat, the traditional Balinese Hindu purification ritual. Local people visit this special place to cleanse the mind, body and spirit, release unwanted influences and pray for clarity, wellbeing and new beginnings.

Our journey will begin with the energy of the earth at Segara Windhu Coffee Plantation, where participants will ground themselves and awaken their senses among coffee plants, tropical vegetation and local spices.

We will then visit Pura Kehen, the historic royal temple of the former Bangli Kingdom. Its ancient connection with the symbolic power of fire makes it an ideal setting for clarifying a personal intention and activating the courage required to move towards it.

After sharing lunch in the peaceful rice-field surroundings of Bangli, we will continue to Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala for the final and most important stage of the journey: releasing the negative energy, emotional attachments, limiting beliefs and repeating patterns that may be blocking our path.

Throughout the day, our local and spiritual guide, Wandi, will share the history, symbolism and traditions connected with each location. His spiritual knowledge, local understanding and experience in guiding and managing tours will allow participants to approach the Melukat ceremony respectfully, consciously and with a deeper understanding of its meaning.

This is not simply a sightseeing tour. It is a carefully designed inner journey that follows the symbolic movement of the elements:

Connect with the earth. Awaken the inner fire. Release through water. Open the way.

Tour Itinerary – 16th September

08:30 โ€” Meeting at the Awakening Journey Bali Office

We will meet at our office in central Ubud for a warm welcome and general information about the day.

Wandi will introduce the spiritual theme of the journey, explain the meaning of the locations we will visit and provide practical information about the Melukat purification ceremony.

Participants will be invited to begin observing what they currently wish to change, release or welcome into their lives. A final intention does not need to be chosen yetโ€”the experiences of the morning will help bring greater clarity.

09:00 โ€” Departure from Ubud

We will leave the office and begin our journey towards the Tampaksiring area.

09:45โ€“10:45 โ€” Segara Windhu Coffee Plantation

Our first destination is Segara Windhu Coffee Plantation, surrounded by tropical vegetation, coffee plants, fruit trees and local spices.

Participants will learn how Balinese coffee is cultivated and traditionally processed before tasting a selection of local coffees and herbal teas.

Coffee begins as a seed held within the earth and passes through several stages before revealing its full character. This natural process reflects the potential that exists within each of us and provides the inspiration for the first awareness practice of the day.

Grounding & Sensory Awareness Practice

Wandi will guide a short grounding exercise designed to bring attention away from mental distractions and back into the body and the present moment.

Participants will be invited to consciously observe:

  • The aromas of coffee, herbs and spices
  • The different flavours and sensations experienced during the tasting
  • Their connection with the earth beneath them
  • Their breathing and physical presence
  • The inner potential waiting to be recognised and developed

This practice will help create stability and presence before we continue towards the deeper intention work at Pura Kehen.

Coffee and tea tasting is included. Luwak coffee and additional products are not included and may be purchased separately.

10:45โ€“11:30 โ€” Journey to Bangli

We will continue towards Bangli through traditional villages and green agricultural landscapes.

11:30โ€“12:45 โ€” Pura Kehen: The Fire of Conscious Intention

Pura Kehen is one of Bangliโ€™s most historically and spiritually important temples. Located at the foot of a wooded hill, it once served as the royal temple of the ancient Bangli Kingdom.

Historical inscriptions connect the temple with Hyang Api, the divine power of fire. The name Kehen is also associated with flame, making the temple a meaningful setting for exploring the symbolic qualities of fire: transformation, courage, clarity, commitment and conscious creation.

Wandi will guide participants through the temple while explaining its history, architecture and spiritual importance.

Intention-Setting Meditation

Within the atmosphere of Pura Kehen, participants will be guided through a reflective meditation to identify one sincere intention or wish they would like to invite into their lives.

Rather than making a passive wish, participants will explore the deeper meaning behind what they are asking for.

The meditation will invite them to consider:

  • What do I genuinely wish to create or experience?
  • Why is this intention important to me?
  • How would my life change if it became reality?
  • What fear, belief or emotional pattern may be blocking it?
  • What am I willing to change or release?
  • What action can I take to support this intention?

The symbolic fire of Pura Kehen will represent the clarity and courage required to transform a wish into a conscious intention.

Participants will carry this intention with them throughout the rest of the journey.

12:45โ€“13:00 โ€” Journey to De Klumpu Bali Eco Tradi

13:00โ€“14:15 โ€” Group Lunch Among the Rice Fields

We will enjoy a prearranged group lunch at De Klumpu Bali Eco Tradi, surrounded by the peaceful natural and agricultural landscapes of Bangli.

This relaxing lunch break will offer participants time to rest, connect with the group and enjoy the beauty of Baliโ€™s rice-growing environment before continuing to the purification ceremony.

Lunch is included in the tour price and will be served collectively as a prearranged group menu. Drinks ordered at the restaurant are not included.

Vegetarian options can be arranged with advance notice.

14:15โ€“14:45 โ€” Journey to Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala

During the journey, participants will be invited to remain connected with the intention they formed at Pura Kehen.

They may begin to observe the emotional attachment, fear, limiting belief or repeating pattern that could be preventing this intention from entering their lives.

14:45โ€“15:15 โ€” Arrival and Preparation for the Melukat Ceremony

Hidden within a forested river valley in Abuan Village, Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala is one of Baliโ€™s lesser-known sacred water temples.

To reach the temple, we will descend through the tropical landscape towards the river, natural pools, stone shrines and holy water fountains below.

Before beginning the ceremony, Wandi will explain the meaning of Melukat, the respectful way to approach the sacred waters and the sequence that participants will follow.

Offerings will be prepared for the ceremony.

Reviewing the Intention

Before entering the water, participants will return to the intention they created at Pura Kehen.

They will be invited to observe whether the intention has changed or become clearer throughout the day. They will then identify what they are ready to release in order to create space for it.

This may be:

  • A negative thought or emotional attachment
  • A limiting belief
  • A fear connected with change
  • A repeating relationship or behavioural pattern
  • Energy associated with a difficult past experience
  • Self-doubt or resistance
  • An influence that no longer supports their wellbeing

This final reflection will create a clear and conscious focus for the purification ritual.

15:15โ€“16:45 โ€” Melukat Purification Ceremony

Participants will enter the sacred waters and move through the stages of the traditional Melukat ceremony under Wandiโ€™s guidance.

The flowing water will symbolically support the release of accumulated negative energy and the cleansing of the mind, body and spirit.

The ceremony will focus on:

  • Releasing negative and unwanted energy
  • Letting go of emotional attachments
  • Cleansing the influence of difficult past experiences
  • Recognising and releasing limiting beliefs
  • Breaking repeating emotional or behavioural patterns
  • Restoring clarity and inner balance
  • Creating space for a new beginning

Participants will be guided to approach each stage slowly and respectfully while remaining connected with the personal intention they formed earlier in the day.

Opening the Way

After completing the purification, participants will reconnect with their intention from a clearer and more balanced inner state.

This final part of the practice will not be based on waiting passively for a wish to be granted. Instead, participants will consciously open themselves to new possibilities while accepting their own role in bringing the intention into reality.

The closing prayer will be centred on the affirmation:

โ€œI release what blocks my path. I welcome what supports my highest good, and I commit to walking towards it with clarity and courage.โ€

The ceremony will conclude with gratitude for the sacred water, the land and the spiritual traditions that made the experience possible.

16:45โ€“17:15 โ€” Changing Clothes and Walking Back

Participants will have time to change into dry clothing before climbing the steps back to the entrance.

Please be aware that reaching the temple requires descending and later climbing a considerable number of steps.

17:15 โ€” Departure for Ubud

Approximately 18:30 โ€” Return to the Awakening Journey Bali Office

Return time may vary depending on weather, road and traffic conditions.
