PURPOSE OF THE JOURNEY

This journey has been carefully designed to prepare you for an authentic and meaningful Melukat purification ceremony at Tirta Empul, one of Bali’s most sacred water temples. Guided by local knowledge and spiritual tradition, you will learn about the temple’s history, legends and cultural significance while discovering the true meaning behind each stage of the ritual.

Our intention is to help you enter this experience with awareness, respect and a clear personal intention, allowing the ceremony to become a meaningful opportunity for purification, renewal and positive transformation.

Throughout the journey, you will be accompanied by our local and spiritual guide, Wandi. His knowledge of Balinese culture and spiritual traditions will help you understand the deeper meaning of the places we visit and the practices you experience. His extensive experience in planning and managing tours also plays an essential role in creating a well-organised, comfortable and carefully timed journey. Wandi’s guidance connects the cultural, spiritual and practical elements of the day, allowing participants to experience each location with greater awareness and understanding.

Before arriving at Tirta Empul, we will visit some of the most significant spiritual and natural locations surrounding Ubud. Through accurate cultural guidance, mindfulness practices and moments of personal reflection, each destination will gradually prepare you—mentally, emotionally and energetically—for the purification ceremony at the end of the day.

The itinerary follows a carefully planned and efficient route, allowing you to experience Ubud’s sacred sites, rice terraces and natural beauty without spending unnecessary time on its busiest roads. Rather than simply visiting several attractions, the entire day unfolds as one connected journey, with each experience leading naturally towards the final ritual at Tirta Empul.

09:30 – DEPARTURE FROM UBUD

10:15–11:45 – GUNUNG KAWI TEMPLE

• Guided visit to the ancient temple complex
• Walk through the surrounding rice terraces
• Introduction to the history and spiritual significance of Gunung Kawi
• Short mindfulness practice by the river
• During the meditation, participants will be invited to identify an emotion, thought, personal burden or recurring pattern they wish to release during the purification ritual at Tirta Empul later in the day
• Personal exploration and photography time

Please note that Gunung Kawi involves more than 300 steps.

11:45–12:15 – TRANSFER TO KUBU BALI EXPERIENCE UBUD

INTENTION REVIEW AND DEEPENING PRACTICE

In the peaceful atmosphere of the waterfall, participants will be invited to reconnect with the emotion, thought, personal burden or recurring pattern they identified during the meditation at Gunung Kawi.

They will quietly observe whether anything has changed since the morning:

• Does the original intention still feel true?
• Has another emotion, memory or recurring pattern appeared?
• Is there something deeper beneath the original intention?
• What are they genuinely ready to release at Tirta Empul?

Participants may keep their original intention, refine it or replace it with something that now feels more authentic. This will be their final moment of reflection before entering the purification ritual at Tirta Empul.
